Intensive group and individual courses

Group courses are for students who would like to attend an Italian language course in a small group with other students. There are 6 levels, from Beginner to Advanced. The courses combine language teaching with a broader syllabus covering Italian culture and current affairs. The student is offered the opportunity to understand, to speak, to read and write the living language through varied and articulated lessons. In order to fulfill our aim, we assure any student special individual care, thanks to the small number of students per class (max. 9/10).

Teaching method

Our teaching methods are modern and based on communicative methods, emphasizing correct pronunciation and  grammar. During all our lessons we always speak Italian with our students, in order to improve the comprehension and production abilities from the first day. Furthermore, our lessons are organized to encourage the active participation of each student. We aim to create a friendly environment, infusing the students  our love of the Italian language and culture.

Our teachers

Our staff is composed of native speakers of Italian, all teachers hold the qualifications to teach Italian to foreigners. Experience, enthusiasm and kindness are their principal characteristics.

Teaching materials

Our school does not use a traditional textbook but a range of books and resources that are among the most modern on the market, and focus on communication-based approach.  Furthermore, a wide range of authentic teaching material is used to supplement lessons, including newspaper and magazine articles, recordings of conversations between native speakers, songs, literary pieces, short films, images, games and clips and Italian films. All educational materials used in class are included in the price.

Lessons start at 9.00 and end at 12.30 every day from Monday to Friday.

Duration

The minimum length of the courses is one week.  Students that already speak Italian can begin on any Monday, while beginners must begin on the dates indicated for the start of each session.  The duration of the course is one to four weeks.

Lessons are not held on the following holidays: 9th and 10th April, 25th April, 1st May, 2nd June, 15th August, 1st November

My previous experience is that usually group courses are quite massive with many attendants of different levels put together. Individual attention is therefore limited and progress slow. The language school in Mondavio is totally different! The groups are very small which guaranties a maximum of personal attention. The difference was clear, I learned more in less time. Another point is the professionalism of the teachers. Grammar and idiom was explained very well. Although the common language during the entire course was of course Italian, when certain technical grammar details became difficult to explain in Italian, our teacher could easily switch to English or German. Quite a relief! All in all a language school that I would like to fulheartedly recommend.

I reckon the best place is the Dante Alighieri school in Mondavio. You need to be careful though as I first studied Italian in Florence and learnt nothing – huge classes and in a city where everyone spoke English. In Mondavio virtually no one speaks English so you are forced to speak italian and the school is fantastic. It will definitely remain forever with you as an experience of a lifetime.

Payment

No specific qualifications are required to attend  our courses. Fill in the registration form and send it with a deposit of 250 € for a 4 week course; (200 € for 3 weeks, 150 € for 2 weeks, 100 € for 1 week). Your registration will be confirmed only after receiving your deposit.
